This block was entered in the Fairfield Quilt Block contest, whose
theme for 2003 was "Under the water". The other requirement was the use of the color
aqua. Scraps from five shirts are represented here: the upper fish is from a shirt I
made for a friend, the background from a shirt for myself, also the cloth on the right,
and the pebbly material is from a shirt made for my husband Curt, and the sandy material on the
lower right from a shirt made for a neighbor. The silver netting was a final touch
that seemed fitting.
