In the summer of 2006, the store where I get the most of my cloth, Fabric Place in Framingham, MA, held a
"Flower Power" competition, where the main qualification for entry was the use of a summer flower. My choice
was the lily, on a background which is the French chevron called Fleur de Lis, meaning lily. This is my
first experimentation with a material called Angelina FiberŽ, which bonds to itself when ironed and creates
a sparkly glistening iridescent effect. The three large lilies and the leaves are all fabric embellished
with angelina, and the petals of the two smaller lilies are entire made with Angelina. The edging is lace,
painted with gold LumierŽ paint.
