This is almost by way of a commissioned piece, getting its first showing for a while at the Purple Ink Insurance Agency. I started out with a lavender background, then played with some scraps of lilacs before coming across the purple/yellow hydrangeas, and the picture used just about every scrap of that fabric that I had. For a while I had a lovely circle of the hydrangeas and could not decide on what should go in the center - and then I found the fuzzy purple cloth about the same shade as the flowers, and knew it wanted to be a puppy! I found a picture uploaded to Webshots of a little white Maltese puppy; her breed may reach 4 pounds at maturity, so this picture might actually show her full-sized or even a bit bigger than her full-grown size. |
