The subject of this piece was determined as soon as I saw the $4.99 bag of "decorative shred" at A.C. Moore; the challenge for this Fast Friday challenge was to incorporate something not usually used in quilted art that could be purchased for under five dollars! I also used Angelina fiber to give the waterfall its color, and added a layer of fine white tulle over the shred to keep it contained. And here and there, a tinsel bead glitters from the falling water.

"Waterfall" won the Framingham Artists Guild Painting of the Month award for January 2008 and will be on display at the Framingham Public Library from Jan. 20 - Feb. 19, 2008.
