Rainy Day

In Rainy Day, development began with the fabric for the sky. The pond in the front, the plants and the field, they are typical elements in my work, but I wanted to find a way to continue the fall of the raindrops into the whole picture. I scanned another piece of the sky fabric into the computer, then ironed a white gauzy fabric to freezer paper so that I could run a few sheets through the printer. The pattern on the gauze was appropriately faint, but the appearance of rain was just what I wanted!
