Description
Beaded Tree began in a class on color, the assignment this time being use of complementary colors. During the class I more or less completed the layout for this piece, and when I took it home, added a layer of green organza over everything but the red shrubbery and the tree trunk. Then came the beads, for added texture on the tree, with a couple shrinky-dink leaves added for variety, then some bigger red beads on the darkest red bushes. The organza, however, reduced the contrast too much between the tree and the background, so I cut it out using a pinking shears around the tree. The red from the beaded shrubs also went into the border.
