Description
I once tried making a cameo by recreating a friend’s face and using a hair piece for dimensional hair, and I may do this again some day. This one, however, grew from a picture I found and brought into Photoshop® to enhance with color and print onto transfer paper. As I was arranging the floral border, I thought that what I needed as a background was shiny gold satin, and I dashed off to Fabric Place to find it. My search turned up a coppery textured cloth, and I took a piece reluctantly, thinking this would do, but then located a buttery-yellow-gold piece of satin that seemed perfect – until I got it home. The coppery cloth was absolutely perfect, giving a touch of the old-fashioned charm of a cameo, but the satin was overpoweringly “modern”, just not right at all!
