A set of color-coordinated “fat quarters” (a quarter yard of fabric cut to 18 x 22 inches) inspired this piece. The starry sky fabric was an obvious choice, and similarly the stripey ocean-beach fabric, selectively cut for sand and for water. The lower green came from other fabric as a better match for the mid-distance. But I absolutely loved the swirly florals as shrubbery! The moon came from another piece of the set, and Angelina® fiber in gold overlaid with dark blue strands became the cloud that highlights the moon.
