Description
My idea when starting my layout session was to go wild in combining fabrics. I started with a collection of floral scraps and then got the startling idea that a rocky landscape, placed sideways, would create a pleasing bowl for a bouquet. During the next week, I sewed the pieces down, then added a few beads on the chrysanthemums and the ferny beige leaves. I found a frame in the closet of the Framingham Artists Guild just the right size — a bit of oil brought out a richer color. But the element that finished the whole composition took all of ten minutes — the quilting on the brown background, and it got a good many comments from my fellow guild members — plus a vote as Art of the Month!
