Description
This piece was my response to the July 2007 Fast Friday Fabric Challenge, which was to create a work in the style of the masters of the art world. Quite a large list was provided, but I found my inspiration in the works of John Robert Cozens, 1752 – 1797, of the English Landscape School. His watercolor of Chamonix and Martigny was the specific picture that I imitated, as its muted but light tones appealed to me. Looking through more of his work, I found them generally much darker.
This one has a formal frame, because the original by Cozens would certainly have had one.
