Description
This Fast Friday Fabric Challenge for this piece was to create a work based on a single fabric; I chose the gray satin which I have in unexplained quantity in my stash! I used several layers of high loft batting and created the leaf shapes and stem with thread painting. The flower is a number of long strips of the satin gathered into ruffles and coiled onto the background. A few touches of fabric paint helps bring out the shapes, and whole piece is edged with more satin, bound onto foam core in a shape that is as you see it; it did not want to conform to your standard rectangle!
