Pathway through Red

Description

Pathway through Red started with a set of Oriental red fat quarters.  (A fat quarter is a quilter’s cut of fabric, a piece cut from a half yard.) The pattern of red blocks challenged me with its rigidity that felt hard to incorporate. The flowers and pieces of fans fell more easily into place.  They left a clearing that called for a small figure, possibly a petite woman in a kimono!
