Description
This was my answer to a Fast Friday Fabric Challenge to choose a letter and illustrate it in the “A is for Apple” style – but not necessarily a commonly thought-of image. I chose to go with a black kettle literally pouring a stream of letters. My original thought had been to cut the kettle off at the edge, but it insisted on remaining whole and going off the edge. No handle, this kettle can pour by itself!
For the letters, I created a couple of stamps using adhesive foam stuck onto scraps of foam core, and printed them on the background. They required a bit of outlining for the H2O symbols and darkening for the T’s, but far simpler than cutting and sewing the letters.
